Fall Crew 3: Last Week on Elbert

Our final week on Mt. Elbert was both difficult and rewarding. Over the course of two and a half months, we worked on a sustainable re-route on Elbert's South Trail, and in our final three days our team of ten crew members and four CFI project partners raced to finish the last section. Our dedication was apparent as each individual pushed themselves both physically and mentally, and our hard work paid off.

We held a ribbon cutting ceremony and saw the first hikers take our route which was a very positive experience. At camp we all had a communal dinner to say goodbye to people and a special place which we had come to call home. Although I was initially sad to go, I knew it was time and I will revisit our trail another day to be reminded of the moments we spent there.
