By Audrey Edwards:
As the days go on, you learn new words and concepts. For instance, 3 weeks ago a trailer was an advertisement for an upcoming movie. Blueberries were a fruit I didn't like. Washing dishes meant putting dishes in a dishwasher. Sleeping meant falling asleep at 2 AM in my queen size bed with my 5 pillows. The first tool that came to my mind was a hammer. Breakfast meant a cold brew and croissant from Starbucks. Showering was a daily necessity. Water is something I would get from the fridge. Stars were things I dreamed would fill the sky. Cooking meant putting an English muffin in a toaster. Camping meant hotdogs and s'mores. Home meant a house and my mom. Now a trailer carries all of our gear. I love foraging and eating wild blueberries. Washing dishes is 4 bins and making eh most of it. I go to sleep at 9 pm on my 2 ft wide sleeping pad and sleeping bag. I love the pick mattock. I pour hot water into an oatmeal packet for breakfast. Showering isn't the first thing on my mind. I fill my water bottle up every morning for the day. I see thousands of bright stars every night. I actually help cook real dinners. Camping isn't glamorous, but it's freeing. And home is wherever I feel happy and safe. Home is screaming music lyrics in the van. Home is doing stretch and safety in the morning. And home is where I do hard work every day with Jose and the Berry Bunch (the crew).
