"The ever so energetic JC from Parks & Wildlife telling us to stop 'farting around' was quite an interesting challenge. He has a lot of energy for a man his age. Bouncing around and giving directions to building fences. Of course, 12 people on an H post (3 logs fitted together like an H) is an unnecessary amount. This left many of us standing around clueless with no job. Tired of JC's yelling, we eventually learned to take initiative and ask 'What can I do to help?'
As I said before, the energy of the friendly JC taught me that you have to work and put in the time and effort into anything you do. It's not given to you like candy on Halloween (unless you have a trust fund w/ rich parents). With that being said, RMYC is a stepping stone into the rest of your future. It is the foundation to immerse yourself int the community, outdoor conservation and recreation, and the natural environment. I've been here for 3 years as a seasonal member and the best part is the tight knit community of you and your crew members and leaders. They are your ride or die and your source of entertainment. Cellular devices? They don't exist on a trail crew. Have fun with your snapchat streaks."
